Media Literacy Training with River Reporter In-Person

Do you have news fatigue? Are you overwhelmed every time you try to catch up on the news? The River Reporter is excited to announce the Summer Media Literacy series in partnership with various libraries across the Upper Delaware Valley region.

The River Reporter’s Media Literacy sessions will be held at the Western Sullivan Public Library Narrowsburg Branch on August 27, 2025, at 5 PM

As we move into the digital age, media literacy is an increasingly important skill to help you stay in the know and not fall prey to misleading headlines! Arm yourself with the tools to navigate an ever-changing news cycle and learn tips and tricks to help you discern fact from opinion, recognize bias, and understand the role of paid placement in stories you read.

As an independent community paper, The River Reporter aims to bridge the gap and help bring media literacy skills to our community members who want to navigate the world of online media, news, and social media.

For more information about the River Reporter’s media literacy series, contact Shanice Frederick-John at social@riverreporter.com or 845/252-7414, ext 127.
